London Calling.

While London Fashion Week is coming to a close, us here in New York are feeling just a bit left out.  Although we've had our share of NYFW just a little while ago, many of us (or just me, I'm cool with that) fashion nerds are lusting over the runway shows and effortless cool our neighbors across the pond seemingly obtain. While I wait to get my hands on the newest looks from House of Holland, I can't forget that I still have yet to man up and finish a whole Guinness. Cheers to you London!

Denim Days.

With the coming of Fall, it's always a struggle for me to fathom that I must start wearing pants again.  Dresses, skirts, shorts, or what have you, have always been my first choice to layer up and head out the door.  Not saying I'm Lady Gaga who prances around in barely anything on the regular, it's just hard to find pants or jeans with the length that fits my legs. Surprisingly enough, I walked into an H&M with a friend only to find a stack of acid wash jeans.  As she was trying on a bunch of clothes I was like hell, why not. Their weird sizes that are forever changing allowed me to try on 4 different sizes, and magically one of them fit! Going through this is usually a hassle, therefore it is a rare occasion I will ever try on pants there, but you can't really go wrong with an affordable pair of acid wash jeans.  So this look is an ode to a halfway or almost Canadian Tuxedo (this is for you Britney & Justin).  I'm usually the asshole out of my friends to own enough denim items to sport these bad boys whenever I have no idea what to wear. Denim on Denim, why not?

I've had a minor obsession with these heels when I first made love to them with my eyes at the flagship Zara store on 5th avenue.   After a few weeks of wondering if I should cave in and buy another pair of heels, I went back to get them.  They are so comfortable and just the right height when you don't want to be totally over the top.

10 Favorites List: Fashion Week Spring 2013 RTW

 10 | CHARLOTTE RONSON

Really was into this cellophane-like jacket from the Charlotte Ronson collection, it also appeared in a royal blue color in another look.  Simple bustier top with a patterned skirt made 3 odd pieces mysteriously work amazing together.

 9 | BCBGMAXAZRIA

White may be the new black for me after seeing this dress. Love the architectural top that turns into a feminine long skirt.

 8 | JEREMY SCOTT

If there is one guilty pleasure of fashion week for me, it would definitely have to be Jeremy Scott's take on the desert/Arabic look for his collection. Patent Fitted Hats, veils, long thigh high boots, and chain patterns-- what more could I ask for?

7 | RODARTE

If Sloane from Ferris Bueller's Day Off went bad girl for a day, this is how she would look, and I love it.

 6 | MARC JACOBS

Okay okay Marc, we meet again.  Many people were surprised with the bold simplistic patterns of his collection-- huge stripes, mixing patterns, black and white all over. For me it was sort of a breath of fresh air to get away from the intricately detailed patterns and see something like this.  Maybe I am a little bias because I secretly wish Marc was my dad?

 5 | MARCHESA

The entire Marchesa collection may have felt like something from a 1920's wet dream.  This one white fringe swing dress is something I would probably never take off.

 4 | MARC JACOBS

If there is anyone that is for the "No Pants I'm Edie Sedgewick or I Want To Be" look, it's me! Hi, can I please have this scalloped trim dress to pretend I'm living in Warhol's factory?  All models even had the signature dark eyebrows, some even with the blonde pixie cut.

  3 | MARCHESA

Adding on to what I mentioned before on Marchesa, I couldn't get enough of this collection. Adding a gold and black dress to the mix made me love this piece just a bit more.

  2 | PROENZA SCHOULER

Dear the men at Proenza, you just gave me a huge mindfuck. How did you think of this and why can I not stop looking at it? It may be something nostalgic or just the fact that grommets, a swimming pool, and a little but of neon orange really turn me on.

  1 | ALEXANDER WANG

If there was anyone I could give a standing ovation to, it would be Alexander Wang.  I was never a huge fan of cutouts until this show happened.  I know they say cutouts leave you with less of an imagination, but I can't even imagine how on earth these pieces were constructed so beautifully.  Yes the styling was a bit futuristic, even alien like, but that only made total sense at the end when it became a huge glow in the dark experience.  Remember the first time you had glow in the dark stars in your childhood bedroom? It was kinda the same feeling.

Starting off this Labor Day weekend with a clear mind.  The last days of summer are winding down, and although it is still quite hot out, fall keeps sending quiet breezes our way.  Decided to take it easy & throw on a sheer vintage maxi dress with a hat to keep the sun away. Simple delicate jewels & a flowy dress make it easy to run around and get all the shit done on your to-do list before work/school starts up again.
